What's New in Dentrix

New features to help your team be more productive and more profitable.

The newest version of Dentrix includes these features:

Month End Updates

  • New task buttons are added for easy access to run, suspend, resume, etc.
  • Month End will always run at the selected time.
  • Month End dialog is added to the Task Scheduler so Month End can run in one click.
  • Warning and success icons are added to the Task Scheduler to quickly locate reports that need to be rerun.
  • A warning message displays if there are any reports that could not run because of a problem. The user is reminded once per day.
  • A new feature is available to check for any open Dentrix modules

Protect Totals Records with Database Transaction

Updates to the Totals records are less likely to be interrupted when running month-end and other processes, and the need to run the recalculation utility is reduced or eliminated.


Task Scheduler

We’ve redesigned the task scheduler with easier-to-access buttons, warnings and success icons, and better ability to control the time that tasks will run.


Appointment Book: Open a day that is usually closed

Use the “Open Office” in the “Schedule Calendar for Practice” to open a day that is usually closed.


ERA (eEOB) Improvements

  • An icon indicates if the patient has secondary insurance from Batch Insurance Payment Entry.
  • The eEOB Full and Split amounts are displayed for multi-site offices (feature available by request).
  • Insurance payment descriptions are more specific in the Ledger.

Health History Permissions

The permissions for Health History were modified. Use these new password permissions to better control who on your staff can make changes to your patients’ health histories.

The new permissions are as follows:

  • Health History Patient, Add – Add Health History items to patients, such as medications, allergies, medical conditions, and prescriptions.
  • Health History Patient, Edit – Edit a patient’s Health History items, including adding notes to alerts.
  • Health History Patient, Delete – Delete a patient’s Health History items.
  • Health History Setup, Add – Add Health History items in the Health History Setup dialog box.
  • Health History Setup, Edit – Edit Health History items in the Health History Setup dialog box.
  • Health History Setup, Delete – Delete Health History items in the Health History Setup dialog box.
  • Health History Setup, Open – Open the Health History Setup dialog box.
  • Health History, Open – Open Health History.

Note: If your staff members currently have permissions to the previous Health History Add/Edit permissions, the new permissions are granted to them automatically during the upgrade.


Improved Update Manager User Interface

New notifications in the lower right-hand corner of your screen appears when an update is available to install
Automatic Downloads will download and install all PCs connected to the Dentrix Database Automatically if set by the user
New Log Center provides quick access to all logs
Network Viewer will display all PCs currently connected to the Dentrix Database


eServices ‘E’ Eligibility Check icons use the default browser

The eServices ‘E’ icons now launch in the user’s default browser.


Support for Ingenico Lane 3000 Payment Device

The Lane 3000 payment device supports EMV chip and PIN, EMV chip and magstripe transactions, as well as an extensive range of contactless NFC, mobile wallet, and alternative payment methods
