Miscellaneous Features

Dentrix Setup Wizard is now accessible from within the Office Manager, Maintenance, Practice Setup menu (23.13).

When a failed install triggers a time-out period, a newer version does not need to wait for the timeout to expire (23.13).

To help avoid confusion, better indications were added to the installer to show when a database conversion is in progress (23.13).

Updated scaling/size of icons made on several toolbars (23.13).

Limitations on the number of providers that can be set up within Dentrix has been increased from 200 to 10,000. This will give room for large offices with a lot of turnover to be able to assign unique ID numbers to their providers (23.14).

When an online payment is received but the patient information cannot be matched with an existing patient, the Import Payments window now includes a Select Patient button. Select the payment, then Select Patient, and identify the correct patient or guarantor (23.14).

To help you identify which user is currently logged onto Dentrix, the user’s name will appear at the right side of the menus in the menu bar. Currently available only in Appointment Book, Ledger, Family File, and Office Manager. It is planned to add this to additional modules in future updates (23.14).

Install package includes Dentrix Smart Image 3.0. An upgrade will occur automatically if a previous version of Smart Image is installed on the computer. Features include (23.14):


Bug Fixes

  • Resolved slowness when saving a new ICD-10CM code (23.13).
  • Corrected message displayed when deleting claims that were eValidated but not sent (23.13).
  • Resolved error when resetting communication files from a workstation using the Dentrix Maintenance Utility (23.13).
  • Insurance adjustments calculate correctly when a received claim has both over-and-under payments on procedures (23.13).
  • On the Insurance Transaction Analysis report, resolved a situation which caused the # Sent column to duplicate the # Received column (23.13).
  • Insurance Claim created from a Future Due Payment Plan was missing Batched and Created Claim Status notes (23.13).
  • Find New Appt Time feature now recognizes operatories that show closed hours of 12am-12am (23.13).
  • Resolved a double-password prompt when a user without rights attempted to generate statements form the Batch Insurance Payment window (23.13).
  • Resolved an issue where the receipts window would get pushed behind other windows when processing payment from a saved credit card (23.13).
  • When the Appointment Book window is maximized, it no longer restores down when an appointment is accessed from the More Information window (23.13).
  • Resolved issues print previewing some reports when a PDF printer is selected as the default printer (23.13).
  • Resolved issues with Dentrix installer missing necessary files (23.13).
  • Resolved issues with Database Convert and Detect Version Number utilities (23.13).
  • When switching to the demo database, certain database utilities are run automatically to ensure that the appointment information is usable (23.14).
  • Extra spaces are now automatically trimmed from the end of the employer street 1, street 2, and city fields (23.14).
  • Under some circumstances, the “Manage Options” text within Appointment Book – Print Appointment Book View was not properly fitting within the button size (23.14).
  • Corrected a situation where some utilities were reading the version number of the live database instead of from the demo database (23.14).
  • When certain conditions are met, an imported online payment displayed a ‘Void’ button when the transaction was actually non-voidable (23.14).
  • Users without proper password rights are no longer able to “Generate Statements” from the Enter Batch Insurance Payment window (23.14).
  • When working with pre-authorizations more than a year old and that contain a completed procedure, opening the Claim Status Notes would fail (23.14).
  • Corrected errors that were preventing a successful silent mode upgrade from Dentrix G7.3.1 to versions 23.8, 23.9, or 23.10 (23.14).
  • In Questionnaires, the text identifying a field as the “Referral Name” was missing (23.14).
  • Corrected an issue where archiving a patient was causing the Family File to crash, not successfully completing the archive process (23.14).
  • Corrected a problem of missing dependencies for a successful installation and database conversion (23.14).
