What's New in Dentrix

New features to help your team be more productive and more profitable.

The April 2025 releases of Dentrix include the following features:

Family File (Beta only)

  • You can now open the Add New Patient dialog box from the new Family File window.
  • A tooltip appears to notify you when Exceptions and/or Notes were added to the Dental Insurance Benefits and Coverage dialog box. The same tooltip also appears in the Dental Insurance Benefits and Coverage dialog box.
  • A status indicator now appears above the Patient Information card indicating whether a patient is a New Patient, Patient, Non-Patient, Inactive, or Archived.

Miscellaneous

  • The Form Status dialog box in Dentrix Forms no longer includes the Remind Patient and Sync Forms buttons. The Status icon colors and names have also been modified (the Incomplete icon is now yellow, and Requested replaces Sync Required and its icon is red).
  • You now receive a warning message when an Eligibility Pro connection has not been established or if the connection was disconnected for the requested payer or payers.
  • Unlink and re-link checks and processes now only run when Dentrix Pay is enabled and a Worldpay account is set up.
  • (Heartland) When you run Month End, the timestamp is no longer updated automatically.
  • A new user permission called Forms, Open was added to the Setup User Permissions dialog box under a new category called Forms.
  • (Limited Beta Only) The Edit icons in the preview of the new Family File window now appear whenever a card contains information about the selected patient, and any card that does not contain patient information about the selected patient now has an Add button.
  • (Limited Beta only) The Add a New Patient dialog box in the Family File and the Appointment Book was modified to help you collect more information about your new patients.
  • (Limited Beta Only) The preview of the new Family File window was modified to include new cards.
  • Dentrix Imaging now installs automatically when you install Dentrix.

Bug Fixes

  • Treatment planned procedures attached to rejected/accepted cases did not appear in Progress Notes or the Ledger. (25.6)
  • If you deleted an employer or insurance plan with an attached record in the Document Center, the record was not deleted. (25.6)
  • In the Eligibility Benefit Details report, 0% coverage incorrectly appeared as an em dash. (25.6)
  • In the Add a New Patient dialog box, Referred By still appeared as required even if you disabled that option in the Preferences dialog box. (25.6)
  • The Family File stopped responding when family records were merged. (25.6)
  • The ePad Vision option is now available in Dentrix. (25.7)
  • When Copy Saved Settings was clicked, Workstation Setup incorrectly changed the color to black and white. (25.7)
  • A practice incorrectly received enhanced eligibility responses, even though the practice does not have eligibilities or an Etrans ID set up. (25.7)
  • Dentrix incorrectly retried requests every three hours instead of 24 hours when “Payer Unable to Respond” was returned. (25.7)
  • Imported coverage percentages were not broken down correctly. (25.7)
  • The D6240 and D6750 Fixed Prosthodontics codes were missing from the eligibility import table. (25.7)
  • The Beg Proc codes were missing from import table. (25.7)
  • The Appointment Book stopped responding if operatory titles exceeded 19 characters. (25.7)
  • An error occurred if you switched from the Family File and the Ledger to the Patient Chart. (25.7)
  • The Electronic Statement Submission History window did not list the latest submission. (25.8)
  • Billing statements were not updating the last billed date in aging or the contact table. (25.8)
  • In some circumstances, the client service attached the wrong IP address in the last IP. (25.8)
  • In Windows 11, the Family File window exhibited some alignment issues. (25.8)
  • Practice Pay did not open if the reference number exceeded 35 characters. (25.8)
  • During a World Pay device unlink/relink event, the configuration parameter was not updated. (25.8)
  • Relinking payment devices automatically caused other devices to lose their connection. (25.8)
  • Updating Dentrix to 25.5 incorrectly removed the Dexis Integrator toolbar buttons. (25.8)
  • Minimizing the Practice Notifications window caused a loop in which the window minimized and restored continually until you clicked the Practice Notifications button. (25.8)
  • The Office Manager stopped responding when you inactivated providers. (25.8)
