What's New in Dentrix

New features to help your team be more productive and more profitable.

The November 2025 release of Dentrix includes the following features:

  • Family File (Beta only)
  • Claims Manager (Beta only)
  • Insurance Claim and Preauthorization (Beta only)

Family File (Beta only)

  • You can now view the status of a patient’s forms from the Family File.
  • The Edit icon has been removed from the various cards. You can now edit the contents of a card by double-clicking it.
  • The Insurance card now includes the Eligibilities icon and menu, a Details button, and if a patient has more than one insurance plan, you can switch from one to any others using your mouse.
  • The guarantor/head of household’s name, the New Family File toggle, and the Leave Feedback link now appear in the title bar.

Claims Manager (Beta only)

  • Claim Summary tabs were added, so that at a glance, you can see the number of claims that are unsent, not ready, ready, and flagged. You can filter claims using the Summary tabs, or if you want, you can choose to hide or show the Summary tabs.
  • You can now flag claims for follow-up or review. You can flag single or multiple claims, or you can choose to flag the claims of a single carrier.
  • You can use the Search feature to filter claims by patient name, carrier, date, or status.
  • You can click the Unsent or Sent tabs to filter claims.
  • You can add or remove columns from the table.
  • By default, the side panel in the Claims Manager is now hidden.

Insurance Claim and Preauthorization Windows (Beta only)

  • The Est Ins column was removed from the Insurance Claim window.
  • The Ins Paid column was removed from the Preauthorization window.
  • Itemized amounts now refresh automatically in the Insurance Claim and Preauthorization windows.

Miscellaneous Features

  • The performance of the Document Center is being improved. (Limited Beta)
  • Eight new multi-codes pertaining to imaging were added to the Multi-Code Setup dialog box. Unlike other multi-codes, these imaging multi-codes cannot be edited or deleted.
  • In the Patient Chart, a new column was added to the Progress Notes panel to indicate when a procedure code requires an image.

Bug Fixes

  • When you saved a note in the Claim Status dialog box, the appearance of the note in the Claim Status card was delayed. (25.22)
  • The Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey caused the Office Manager to stop responding. (25.22)
  • The Select Patient dialog box did not open when you opened the new Family File. (25.22)
  • The Outstanding Balance Report/Service incorrectly sent a patient with a $0.00 balance in the Ledger a statement showing an outstanding balance. (25.22)
  • The credit balance in Practice Analysis did not match the balance in the Credit Balance Aging Report. (25.22)
  • Updates to Dentrix Forms were not being saved to the Document Center. (25.22)
  • Late charges were not calculated correctly in Practice Analysis Totals. (25.22)
  • When patients submitted forms that required their providers’ signature, the Sign button did not appear in the Health History window. (25.22)
  • A patient’s chart could not be printed. (25.22)
  • Totals were incorrect when non-treatment planned procedures were posted. (25.22)
  • Columns did not sort correctly in the Claims Manager. (25.22)
  • When you itemized payments on a secondary claim, the amount in the Amount Paid text box was incorrect. (25.22)
  • Claim Attachments were not automatically attached to secondary claims. (25.23)
  • In the new Family File, toolbar buttons and items in the Switch To menu incorrectly lost focus when the Patient Information dialog box was closed. (25.23)
  • Editing the amount of an insurance payment caused totals to be incorrect. (25.23)
  • After you entered an itemized primary insurance payment, a secondary claim was not created. (25.23)
  • The Ledger did not refresh automatically after an adjustment was entered in the new Insurance Claim window. (25.23)
  • In the new Insurance Claim window, the Claim Status “Sent” and “Partial Payment” dates were not updated automatically when the dates were changed. (25.23)
  • When you added a custom note, it did not appear immediately in Claim Status Note history. (25.23)
  • Switching from the new Insurance Claim window to the classic Insurance Claim window intermittently caused the Ledger to stop responding. (25.23)
